Schedule: 0700 to 1800 Monday through Friday. Saturday: 0700 to Noon Note: Schedule is dependent upon number of open trucks and status of fleet operations, hours may vary in this supervisory capacity. This position entail the following responsibilities and may be amended from time to time, depending upon the company's needs and growth:
- Actively recruit quality drivers to minimize the number of open seats in the fleet on a day to day basis
- Manage the petty cash account and complete forms on a weekly basis to ensure cash is accounted for and available at all times to authorized personnel
- Run motor vehicle driving records using the DAC computerized network or send out manual driving record requests and/or insert company information on departing drivers in the DAC
- Run reference checks on applicants using either DAC network or manual phone/fax to previous employers for past 10 years
- Devise and place applicable newspaper advertisements and maintain correct budget to ensure production and cost control - review with ops, the needs for drivers by geographic location & number
- Review qualification files on rehires, bring up to date and verify information is factual
- Schedule physicals and motel arrangements with appropriate agencies when necessary
- Compile all necessary statistical reports for management review and reference
- Transport urine specimens to airport as needed for timely transport to laboratory
- Order carry-in lunches on first day of orientation & pick up food if necessary with company van
- Check in drivers that are leaving, inventory supplies, inspect trucks, take to bus station when necessary
- Design advertisements & manage magazine vendors to ensure monthly quality advertising with controlled budget
- Overflow duties form Safety Dept calls during peak periods of time q Conduct orientation for new drivers
- Manage the sign on bonus program for new drivers when applicable - payment, etc.
- Keep outdoor billboard current and devise wording
- Troubleshoot files/information and bring discrepancies to attention of applicable personnel q Order necessary bus tickets and motels for new hires
- Keep supervisory personnel advised of dept. activities, challenges & needs on a daily basis
- Keep or manage other personnel to ensure company van & pickup are clean, full of gas & serviced to ensure reliable transportation services
- Other miscellaneous recruiting and safety duties as may be assigned by supervisory personnel
