The primary geographic area of operations is the Midwest with limited operations to the Northwest and Northeast. The primary lanes of operation include the upper and lower Midwest with boundaries of Denver CO on the west and Youngstown OH on the east. Presently the company is managing a long term growth that may increase the geographic area of operation.
We haul processed food products, fresh meats, beverages and paper products. We transport a small amount of swinging meat in the upper Midwest, generally going from the meat patch into Chicago and Detroit. Our customer base includes Tyson Foods (fresh meat division), Sara Lee Foods, ConAgra Foods, Swift & Co., Unilever Best Foods, Dole Fresh Vegetables, Pilgrims Pride, Campbell's Soup, Kellogg, Hormel, Sweetheart Cup, Coca Cola, Coors and Miller.
- National, The national fleet operates through K & B's operating area, the Continental US.
- Regional, This fleet operates in the Midwest, with the following boundaries; Denver on the west, San Antonio on the South, and the Ohio/ Pennsylvania state line on the East. Excluded are the Gulf states LA, GA, AL.
- Dedicated operations for ConAgra Foods, Sara Lee Foods, Tyson Foods and Unilever Best Foods.
- Artex is a wholly owned subsidiary of K & B Transportation, which operates in Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado and Minnesota.
- We are the sole transportation provider for L & H Packing Company in San Antonio, Texas.
- Our operations area currently operates from 6am to 1am Monday through Friday with an on-call person handling calls between 1am to 6am. We have limited staffing on Saturday and Sunday.
